Gateways Pathway Program

Introducing the Gateways Pathway Program: A transformative professional development system designed to elevate California’s early childhood education (ECE) workforce. The Gateways Pathway offers an accessible, streamlined avenue for professional growth, particularly Family Child Care (FCC) and other home-based child care providers. By setting consistent standards for trainers and offering targeted support, the Gateways program makes it easier than ever for early childhood professionals to find, choose, and track high-quality training opportunities.
 
Aligned with the California Department of Education Early Childhood Education Competencies, Gateways covers a wide range of ECE topics, ensuring relevance and consistency. Originally launched in Los Angeles County as Gateways for Early Educators™ in 2010, the program has been integrated with the California Early Care and Education Workforce Registry since 2016. Now, as the Gateways Pathway progam, it’s expanding statewide, offering counties across California the opportunity to join this innovative system, creating a cohesive, accessible professional development journey for all early educators.
